Bystanders said the driver was an elderly client who just got confused, possibly hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake, and driving nearly to the front desk of Wind River Clinic, a general-practice and pediatric doctor's office on the west end of Riverton at 1005 College View Drive.

Riverton Police Department Capt. Wes Romero confirmed those details, telling Cowboy State Daily the woman was arriving for an appointment in the front parking space, and "instead of hitting the brake she apparently hit the gas and just drove through the building." She wasn't hurt, Romero added.

No one was arrested for the crash.

Authorities dispatched fire, police and ambulance personnel to the scene at 9:28 a.m., according to the police department’s Facebook page. No one has reported injuries.

At 11 a.m., workers swept glass into bins, gestured to the crowded chairs and remarked how fortunate it is that no one was sitting in the vehicle’s path when it drove through the waiting room.
