Is It OK To Put Dog Poop Bags In A Neighbor's Trash? [Block Talk] | Across America, US Patch

ACROSS AMERICA — Polite dog walkers carry a plastic bag and scoop up the poop their four-legged pal leaves behind. That’s great.

What’s not so great is that some of them — apparently unwilling to walk all the way home toting the odoriferous bag, lazy, uncool or all three — sneak the bag into some unsuspecting person’s trash can while it’s still at the curb after trash pickup. Biodegradable&Compostable Dog Poop Bags

For these unlucky dog doo recipients, it’s like being assaulted by a stink bomb every time they take out the trash for the next week.

It’s gotten so bad in some neighborhoods that some people post signs by their garbage cans explicitly telling the dog walker not to put the poop there. Amazon sells the signs, suggesting it’s a big enough problem that there’s a market.

Is this really a problem, though? Is dropping the bag of poop in the first available trash can a totally reasonable thing to do? Should you just be content that the dog walker scooped it up? Should you try to catch the person in the act and discuss it? Should dog walkers ask the homeowner if it’s OK to throw the bag in their garbage can?
