A RESCUE is underway at a candy factory after two workers fell into a tank and became trapped waist-high in liquid chocolate, reports say.

They fell into the chocolate shortly before 2 pm local time, the Lancaster County dispatch reported.

Both victims were unable to get out of the tank on their own, according to PennLive.

A hole has reportedly been cut into the tank to free the stuck workers.

The first victim was removed from the tank at 3.10 pm and the second was out by 3.25 pm, according to local reports.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, including ambulances and helicopters, according to reports.

Mars is well-known for producing a variety of products and food items, including candy bars.

The Elizabethtown Mars facility, located on Brown Street, is a food processing plant, according to its website.

The facility is located about 25 minutes from Hershey Park.

A company spokesperson told The Sun: "We can confirm both people have been taken offsite for further evaluation. We’re extremely grateful for the quick work of the first responders."
