According to the official statement, RailTel has partnered with Hyderabad-based IPTV service provider City Online Media to offer RailWire users IPTV services under the "ULKA TV" brand.

The equipment, developed by the Centre for Development of Telematics along with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has already been tested to handle 10 million calls simultaneously on a static network. After successful testing on the live network, the broader roll-out will commence, a senior company official said on condition of anonymity.

According to WABetaInfo, the company will bring the new feature to a future update of the app as it is in the developing stage. With this feature, users will be able to transfer chat history to a new device by scanning the QR code.
