Savvy Sliders burger chain opens first D-FW location

Savvy Sliders, a national chain restaurant specializing in sliders and chicken fingers, opened its first location in D-FW in October 2023. It’s the second location in Texas, after one recently opened in San Antonio.

Savvy Sliders’ menu includes slider sandwiches with Angus beef, steakhouse rib-eye, chicken, crab cake, and vegetarian options such as falafel. It also offers hand-breaded chicken fingers, salads, and smoothies. Frozen Whole Duck

“In Texas, we focus on prime rib. We know people love their beef here,” said Milton Treviño, CEO of Savvy Holdings Texas, the area Savvy’s developer.

Savvy Sliders’ first North Texas location is at 4814 Greenville Ave. in Dallas.

Savvy Sliders began in Michigan in 2018, and now there are 39 locations in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and Texas. The restaurant’s expansion plans include other states, such as Indiana and Tennessee.

They now have big plans for North Texas.

“Our plan is to have more than 26 stores open here by the end of 2026,” Treviño said. “We think it’s a great concept and this market can obviously support it.”

Treviño explained that Savvy Sliders has a franchise model in which they work hand-in-hand with experienced restaurateurs while the company provides the financing and support.

“We think it’s a win-win,” Treviño said.

The new Dallas location is owned by Semaj Miller, a young Fort Worth native who started out working as a server at Texas Roadhouse. He then became a manager at Roadhouse, before becoming a managing partner at Raising Cane’s and then general manager of Project Pollo, a vegan fast-food chain that was in the same location Savvy Sliders occupies today. Project Pollo closed earlier this year after an acquisition, reported CultureMap.

“I would say the biggest thing that really catapulted me or gave me my drive and my passion for what I do is that I was a soccer player in high school,” Miller said. “I transferred that same passion and vigor for soccer to the restaurant industry.”

Miller now employs 46 people at his restaurant, and one of his goals is to train young people to have a fruitful career like he has had.

“I always tell the people don’t let this be just a job, let it be a learning lesson. It’s a learning experience for you,” Miller said.
